L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is most of all known for its many brocante and antique shops.
Twice a year, at Easter and over the 15th of August holiday, more than 500 antique and second hand dealers expose their finds at the important fairs -
les salons d’antiquaires et les foires internationales à la brocante.
L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is an extremely atmosphere filled town with its many channels, giving the town a very special character.
There are also a number of interesting buildings, amongst others the fortified tower
La Tour Boutin, also called
La Tour d’Argent, whose origin is unknown, the church
Notre Dame des Anges with its beautiful baroque interior and an old granary, today used as
office de turisme, and an 18th century hospital which houses a very fine collection of faiences from Moustiers. The town also has a couple of old and very big water mills.
