Elba with its about 30 000 inhabitants is an island in Tuscany, Italy, 20 km from the coastal town Piombino. It is the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago, and the third largest island in Italy. The land area of Elba is about 223 km2 and the coastline is about 147 km. The highest mountain is Monte Capanne at 1,018 metres. Elba and the other islands, Pianosa, Capriaia, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri, of the Tuscan Archipelago are protected in a National Park.

There are ferry services to Piomino (1hrs) and Livorno (3hrs) in Italy. Besides there is ferry service between Elba and the small island of Pianosa.
