Holiday home in Tuscany

Tenuta San Vito is situated in the heart of Tuscany in the verdant hills of the Chianti Fiorentino Wine zone, crowning a striking hill overlooking the Val d’Elsa on one side and the Florentine plain on the other. Here you find Tenuta San Vito with its 130 hectares boasting vineyards, olive groves, and magnificent forest. Situated along the route of “Istrada Pisana” - as so named during the XVI Century – which passed by the important castle of Malmantile, connecting the Florentine valley to Pisa flatlands. During the XVI Century, the buildings of the farm were part of the property of the Florentine public body “arcispedale degli incurabili” (hospital of the incurables). For centuries agriculture has been the only activity in the farm undertaken by share-cropper families that lived there at the time. Only recently buildings have been renovated to meet the changing needs of the estate.

Today the estate produces vintage wines and extra virgin olive oil following the old Tuscan traditions and the modern techniques of «Organic Cultivation». That is to say all products are grown without the use of artificial chemical substances. The estate has been producing since 1982. As guarantee for this, the produced is controlled by the A.I.A.B. (Italian Association of Organic Producers) and the I. F. O. A. M. (International Federation of Organic Agricultural Movements).

The guests dispose of 2 swimming pools near olive trees and vineyards, a large hall, footpaths, a shop and mountain bikes. The restaurant, immersed in the green, on a beautiful terrace in the hayloft in Podere La Querce, offers Tuscan and vegetarian cooking with exclusively biological products. Buffet breakfast has been introduced as a new service to all guests too. The wines DOCG and DOC and the extra virgin olive oil have the certification of the Biological Product from 1982 with warrant AIAB (Italian Association of Biological Agriculture) in accordance with the CEE regulation. For the restaurant reservation is required.

Surrounded by a beautiful landscape and wrapped by light and silence, the charming meeting room of 90 m2, is the ideal setting for gala evenings, special events, business meetings and seminaries.

The Tenuta is the ideal spot for a vacation of total leisure, offering unparalleled opportunities to visit nearby attractions and to discover the magic of the Tuscan countryside.

The estate consists of 4 farmhouses that have been reorganized into 4 cottages, the "Podere Casanova", the "Podere La Querce", the "Podere Frantoio" and the "Podere Bellosguardo". They have been restored and converted into 15 comfortable apartments of different sizes each unique for furnishing and position for farm holidays with swimming pools and a nice restaurant. They are all equipped with phone, hairdryer and ceiling fan, TV and safe. The estate is open all the year and all the cottages are provided with independent heating. The farm has also a shop, that offers products from the farm. The estate offers weekly tours starting at the cellar followed by a walk trough the vineyards and olive groves to the old stone oil mill. Wine tasting of own products and a delicious meal of Tuscan specialties concludes the tour. Wine and oil tours are available for groups and can be personalized according to participants needs.

Le Righe - 3-room apartment – 4 + 2 pers:
The apartment is situated in the building Podere La Querce. A typical Tuscan farmhouse located in front of the restaurant and very near the pool, Podere La Querce features five tasteful apartments restored in the traditional Tuscan country style.

Cavalli - 3-room house - 4 + 2 pers:
Located near Podere La Querce, the unique Villino I Cavalli was the very first establishment in agricultural tourism in the area. The structure was built in accordance with criteria of bio-sustainability, in complete respect for the environment and the well-being of our guests, and in line with our choice of organic agricultural production and cultivation. Love for details and careful attention to the interior design render this apartment a truly charming refuge.
